Tyler and I recently sailed out of Tianjin International Cruise terminal for a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas. Before we departed for this cruise we wanted to spend a couple of days in Beijing, however, I was a little worried about transportation and especially transportation on the day of the cruise. After going on this short journey, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy, quick, cheap and convenient it was to get from Beijing to Tianjin, and I would highly recommend this route for anyone heading to that cruise port. Here is a quick guide for you on how to get from your hotel or BnB in Beijing to the Tianjin International Cruise Terminal in Tianjin.
This journey involves taking a metro in Beijing, a high speed train into Tianjin, and finally a taxi to the cruise terminal. The total cost for our journey was ___ (___each) and it took a total of about ___ hrs to get from our hotel to the cruise terminal.
- To start your journey, you will need to find the nearest metro station to where your accommodation is located. This is how you will stat your journey. We were staying at the Fairmont Beijing (which you can read more about here) so we used Google Maps to determine the nearest metro station [ inset image ] Now, to get the metro route you need to take, I highly recommend installing the app MetroMan- this was a huge timesaver and lifesaver when trying to navigate the metros in China. I couldn’t be more happy with it, using this app we discovered we needed to go to take line _ to __… This cost us a total of 8 Chinese yuan (4 Y each) which is equivalent to about __ USD at the time of writing this post and about ___ minutes.

Please note: There is the possibility of many stairs when accessing metro stations in Beijing. If you have a lot of luggage a better option may be taking a taxi or private transfer from your hotel to the Railway station.
